🇬🇧 PRIME MINISTER HOLDS CALL WITH CHINESE PRESIDENT FOLLOWING RECENT TENSIONS
Ashton Gilbert·

Prime Minister Ashton Gilbert today held a telephone conversation with Chinese President Jiang Zemin following the British bombing of senior CCP official Jack Ma’s mums house. According to Downing Street sources, the call was cordial and constructive. Officials even suggested President Jiang jokingly remarked that the Prime Minister's recent actions against senior Communist Party official Jack Ma were understandable, citing a long-running dispute over "half a bowl of missing noodles." The conversation follows the Government's recent decision to lift restrictions on student visas for Chinese nationals, a move seen as an attempt to improve relations between the two countries. Speaking to the BBC, the Foreign Secretary reaffirmed Britain's close partnership with the United States while stressing that the Prime Minister remains committed to opening dialogue with China and pursuing a stable and productive relationship with the world's most populous nation.
