ITV EXIT POLL: CONSERVATIVE LANDSLIDE VICTORY
Misty Gray·

OUR EXIT POLL HAS CONCLUDED. ITV is projecting a Conservative landslide victory, with Prime Minister Ashton Gilbert on course to secure a commanding parliamentary majority. The projection points to a disastrous night for New Labour, which is forecast to collapse in many of its traditional strongholds, including London and Birmingham. The Liberal Democrats are also expected to make substantial gains, emerging as the primary opposition force across large parts of southern England. The result follows a term in which the Conservatives inherited a struggling economy marked by high inflation, negative economic growth, weak GDP performance, and extensive public borrowing. While issues such as inequality and unemployment remain unresolved, voters appear to have rewarded the government for restoring economic stability. Inflation has fallen, GDP growth is approaching 5%, and the government's books have been balanced after years of heavy borrowing.
