Statement Regarding The “Churaclaim Traidisiúnta” Bill
Low Thia Khiang·

This is one of the dumbest policies for our youth of Ireland. Regular assessment across the school year helps students learn concepts via mistakes in earlier exams and allows them to work on what they are weak at, improving learning overall. To throw that away and put in one singular set of exams that can determine a child’s future opportunities and career, risks damning talented students to never reap all their potential. All that cost, just to make sure “Those who mess about in our schools do not deserve the opportunity to be continously assessed to allow them to attain the highest grades possible.” Continuous assessment gets kids that are messing around to face their bad grades and provides a chance for them to wake up and study. The assertion by Neil Steen makes zero sense and is just hating on the set of youth we need to help. This frankly shows how Aontu only serves reactionaries and impulse feelings, and they must be rejected at the local elections and beyond.
