In this revolutionary act in Ireland, the Irish State Industries Act 2000 has been tabled and will pass, as it has passed the 67% supermajority requirement. The Irish government has stated these sectors are being nationalised for the greater good of the Irish state. The sectors that are being nationalised are the Telecommunication, Entertainment and Retail. The Government has announced following after the passing of this act that the following public companies will be formed: Irish Supermarket, Irish Telecoms and Irishtainment. They will operate as not for profit corporations. Their main focus will be to develop products and expand their operations to aid the Irish economy.
