Bank of England Governor Statement
Benjamin Whitley·
As the recently fairly elected Bank of England governor, I would like to make it clear to the world the objectives that I have set for the British economy. Firstly, I will aim to maintain inflation between 3% and 4%. My reasoning will be quite clear, this was when the British economy was growing fastest (Real GDP). The past does not indicate the future, but it is still one of the best ways to understand the path that the economy will take. To achieve this, I will quickly cut the interest rate to around 3% and from there do small cuts. Second, it has come to my attention that the Great British Pound is too great. Hence, the bank will begin injecting more pounds into the market to weaken the Pound and hopefully increase our already great trade surplus. For now this is all that I have to announce. Signed, Benjamin Whitley, Governor of the Bank of England
