Time for New Things

To the people of Ireland, Serving as your Taoiseach since 1994 has been the greatest honor of my life. Together, we built a stronger, fairer, and more united Ireland by investing in our people and believing that no one should be left behind. Every success we achieved belongs to the Irish people. Today, I leave office with complete confidence in my successor, Hugh Smith. Hugh is a trusted colleague, a dear friend, and someone I know will continue the work we began with integrity, compassion, and determination. Our shared vision for a more equal and prosperous Ireland remains strong, and I know the country is in safe hands. Thank you for the trust you placed in me over these fifteen years. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve as your Taoiseach. Slán, and may Ireland always move forward together.
