GDR Leadership Demands Western Withdrawal from Berlin

General Secretary Ivanka Trump today issued an uncompromising demand that the United States, Britain, and France surrender their occupation sectors of Berlin and withdraw their forces from German soil. “Berlin is the capital of the German Democratic Republic. It is not an imperialist fortress, an American military outpost, or the property of foreign occupiers,” Ivanka declared. “The artificial division of our capital must end.” The General Secretary accused the Western powers of using West Berlin as a base for espionage, sabotage, and subversion against the workers’ and peasants’ state. “The patience of the German people is not unlimited,” Ivanka warned. “Return Berlin to German authority. Withdraw your troops. Dismantle your occupation apparatus. The era in which Washington, London, and Paris dictate the fate of our capital must be brought to an end.” The GDR government declared the reunification of Berlin under its authority a matter of national sovereignty.
