Finish the Fight!

Early this morning, the Soviet Minister of Finance gave a speech over radio to the Soviet people. It went as follows: “Comrades and working people of our strong nation, some time ago, the workers of socialist Germany faced brutal aggression from the capitalist enemy. And yet, since then, the snow has fallen twice upon us and the snow has melted twice again, and the socialist Republic of Germany still stands tall. The workers of Germany have fought bravely against the American aggression. They underestimated the willingness of the factory worker in Dresden to take up arms against the enemy. They are paying for that miscalculation today. Our own economy has worked to hold off the assault by the Yankees. A steel worker patriot in Magnitogorsk can rest easy knowing his labor defends the motherland. But we must not rest! Victory is close, but the last stretch is where we must be decisive and firm. We fight to defend all that we have built. We will not lose. Finish the fight!”
